In Class Sunday July 13, 2008:

2 Timothy (3:1-7) 1) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6) For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly woman laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7) Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Pride - pride is one of the hardest mental issues you will deal with in serving God. For example when you are a young preacher just starting out you will have a hard time not worrying about what they congregation will think of your sermon. You may say to yourself “well I am not going to preach because I do not want them to judge me in my walk with God, or you may feel like if you preach then they might think you did badly.
Our Flesh - as humans we must die in the flesh daily. Naturally in the flesh we love the things of the world more than the spiritual things. We have to learn to ignore the temptations of this world. We have Die Daily.
What is your true desire? - Always know what really matters then put everything else aside. Know what is the most important to you. Ask yourself if that true desire is love for the worldly things or for the things of God.
Note: The bible says to be either Hot or Cold not lukewarm. If you are lukewarm God will spew you out of his mouth! Do not just ride the fence do just stay where you are comfortable do not get satisfied with yourself put it in your mind you want to be on fire for God and want to press forward to do more for God. If you want to just play with your walk with God it would be better in God’s eyes to just leave it alone. Sometimes we all go through hard times. Many times young people will get to the point they are just going to church to socialize or to impress your pastor or family, no matter which of these you are going to church for you are still riding the fence! Get yourself set back on the straight away!

You’re Burden - when you are to the point you still have your burden but at the same time you do not care about that burden and you do not care enough to do something about it.
Things You Can do to Improve

Be on time to church.
Be in the prayer room at least 15mins before service starts.
Press through with your worship.
Take time out of your day to pray.
Make a point to read your bible daily.
Now I challenge you to press to a place in your walk with God you have never been. Break through this lukewarm state. Do all you can to be on fire for the Lord!

A Shout out from your youth leader:

It is so easy to give everything up! When things come your way make sure you have a strong enough foundation you are able to stand up without falling. Things will get harder as you draw closer to God because the devil will continue fighting and he will begin fighting harder to get you down! Check yourself!

God Bless each and every one of you! Press through! See what God can do!
